The earliest civilization in the History of Mexico City was Olmec till 400 BC. other civilizations include Maya, Toltec, Aztec, Zapotec, etc. The first Europeans to visit Mexico were Francisco Fernández de Córdoba in 1517 and Juan de Grijalva in 1518.The establishment of the United States and the ideas of the French Revolution had considerable influence on Mexicans. The occupation of Spain by Napoleon led to a revolt in Mexico. Mexico has enjoyed considerable economic development, but most of the benefits have gone to the middle and upper classes.
